Tonight will be the first night of Chanukkah, So today we are going to be getting the house ready for Chanukkah.
If any of you wonder why I like this holiday let me just tell you.........
Hanukkah is all about the turn away from Peganism and turning back to God. Tonight on the first night of Chanukkah we take the time to say the sheckianyu and light the first candle. The girls are going to do a play to tell us all about Chanukkah and what it means to them. then we take some time to rededicate our Home, our property and even ourselves back to God.
For Chanukkah every year we read from this book.....
and we descuss the questions, Tonight is reading the story of Chanukkah from the Book of Maccabees.
I love this book cause it even gives you a topic to Pray on each night.
Tonights will be:
That we may grasp the spiritual elements of this season and allow them to motivate us to greater love for the Father.
I will try to post a video from tonights production of Judah Maccabee..... staring Jackie, Abby, Tyna and Katie. ( Jackie gets top billing cause she is playing Judah this year) Keep up this week cause I will be posting what we did each night and will post what the reading is for that night.
SHalom.

Well this weekend we got out of town a much needed break after the disapointment of last week. Joe did not get the job. It is a let down of course but nothing is by chance and God is in control. anyways lets move on to cuter things.......
our nephew is now 3. acording to him though he turned four, OH my how time flys!!! Especially if we have to skip a year ( wink) we were so blessed to be able to go to Prescott this past weekend to celebrate 2 wonderful birthdays ( post tomorrow on the second.) It was so nice getting to spend time with family and share in this wonderful day. Devin is our first and only nephew so we feel it is so important to spend as much time as we can with him. not to mention he is just too cute. ( I think I already mentioned that!!)
Devin's birthday was SPIDER MAN!!!! Ryan and Kari did a great job on the decorations and food!!!
Kari made the Cake pops for all the kids are they not cute? and good the kids loved them.
super cool.... Spider man, spider man..... does anything that a spider can!!!!
Cake was made by Walmart!! Very cool!!!
As Always Devin got a ton of stuff!!! We oppeded for clothes this year as our present so that went over like this.....
Yeah!! Oh well wasn't expecting him to oo and ahhh... Clothes are more presents for Mom and Dad anyways gives them the joy of being the cool one who gets the cool presents.
Devin was not into letting me take any pics so this was the closest I got of a good picture.
This was his favorite Toy ( from mom and dad) it is a pirate tower!!!!
Roberts family KIDS...... well most of them!! we are missing one of the Great Grandkids but still thought since they were all in the same place we would get a picture.
Have a blesed Day !!!

As of late we have had some issues with the girls and there chores. Common I know but so frustrating so we came up with something new....
The 2 jars with there names on it has there Chores in it and every day at the end of the day they pull there chores out...
then they write it on there own small white boards this way they have a list and they can mark it off themselves
Then for everything on there school list or there chores they get a marble in there pail. they can use there marbles to play on the wii, on the laptop, watch a movie or play outside.
we started this on Monday and it went well, and today went well also, Tyna and Katie have learned to Trade chores so that they don't get the same ones every day since they drew the same ones 2 days in a row. I know it is a new thing and so it may not last but if it helps me right now get this stuff done I am all for it.
The fighting has gone down the past few days and they even made me dinner tonight!!!!
In other news......
Joe has Passed all his tests for Mohave county sheriff department we now have to wait for a phone call to tell us when he can start the training, The training is 18 weeks and it is in Havasu so no husband for those weeks just the weekends. this will most likely mean a move as early as this upcoming summer for us. Not looking forward to that!!!
I am so proud of him. he worked so hard for this and God has just blessed us with this opportunity. And even if it is a hardship for awhile I know that the Father is looking out for us and will keep us safe.

Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving!! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays it so rich with traditions, family and food!!! What is not to love?! this year my parents were wonderful enough to come up for thanksgiving, with a few surprises!!!! I had told my mom and dad that My PC wasn't working properly and while they were here I would have my dad look at it see if he could do something ( dad is a programmer) none of the games we had on the pc would work OY !! and instead they brought me there old PC complete with games for the kids and some for me too (wink, Wink!!)
I know that this will not become a habit when my pc is not working but Very cool!!!! The pc is newer, the speakers are JUST COOL and CLEAR!!! and it is just so fast compared to the last pc. I didn't know what I was missing!!!! thank you daddy!!!
Then as an added bonus Mom got a new Kindle with her amazon credits which means that ..... ( you guessed it) I got her old kindle!!! this was not a surprise we had been talking about it earlier since she had to have her old kindle replaced just as she was looking for a new kindle ( keyboard letters were wearing out) they sent her a new one and she had called me asking what skin I wanted for it. so for a month while she decided what new kindle she wanted she used .... ( MINE). she also made me a sleeve for the Kindle SO COOL!! I am so spoiled I know!!!!
The girls were excited too!!! cause Mom fixed the labtop so that we can play the games on the Laptop also so they don't have to wait for mom and dad to get off the big pc. they can play there games on there well all but one but soon we will get that game put on there.
back to thanksgiving.......
we had a wonderful visit with my parents unfortunately me and the girls were still getting over being sick so that was a bit hard on all of us, we were overly tired. but all and all, great time, can't wait til there next visit in January or ours ( if we can swing it in december).
Dinner: we had so many wonderful dishes for thanksgiving here is our menu with links to the recipes cause they were just too good not to share.
Turkey
Make ahead potatoes : Make ahead potatoes is commonly known in our house as MOMMY's famous mashed potatoes, I have been making these potatoes for awhile, you add cream cheese, sour cream, butter, salt and pepper to the potatoes and if no gravy we add ranch dip mix and chives. message me for full recipe
Sweet Potato : add butter, cornstarch, brown sugar, cinnamon message me for full recipe
Broccoli salad ( My kids favorite) I don't like raw onions so I use dried and I add shredded carrots.
Turkey Gravy from scratch: easy to make
Stuffing from box - no need to do it from scratch this year
For desert:
pumpkin pie thank you coco's, last year I made it from scratch didn't feel up to it this year
Coconut cream pie
no bake cookies
So much GOODNESS!!!!
G-d Has blessed us with so many things to be thankful for, a wonderful family and friends. a wonderful home and food on my thanksgiving table. Praise be to YHVH my Elohim who has blessed me with a wonderful thanksgiving

So many blessings on Tyna's birthday!!!! First off how cool is it that our sweet girl is now ELEVEN and on the day she turned 11 it was on 11-11-11!!! she had a wonderful weekend she got some amazing presents THANK YOU everyone who sent cards, facebooked messages and gave her presents it was so appreciated and she loved them all.
here are some of the pics of her opening her presents....
From Nana and papa she got ......
she got these dresses and skirt ( the pink one with the Jacket Nana Made)
She also had a complete stranger giver her a set of Nancy Drew: Girl detective books!!! wow just so cool for her!!! she felt very loved
also for her birthday she got these from Joe's parents a few days early...
we did a photo shoot with her new outfits here are my favorites
also what made Tyna's birthday such an answer to prayer is Joe got his ELK!!!! He Shot her on Friday Gutted, bled her out all before sundown on Friday and we processed her Late saturday. we were so blessed to get it all done in 4 hours. GREAT timing. all the meat is now in my freezer waiting to be ate!!!!! we ended up with 92 packages of meat which is over 100 lbs of meat!! this will be a great thing for our family for the year!!! PRAISE YAH FOR HIS BLESSINGS!!!
On friday night Jackie came down with this CRUD that has been going around starts with a sore throat and for Jackie also comes with a cough. So we get to take Dinatab, Robatussin and Vicks vapor rub, along with drinking Vitamin C ( 2times a day) she is not liking that but she is a good sick girl she takes it with out complaint cause the meds are making her feel better. we will see how good she is when she is better. Since Friday she is about the same, POOR BABY it is just so sad to watch her. She wanted to help with the Elk but we said "NO" she wanted to eat what we were eating for dinner but I was afraid with the drainage that she couldn't handle that so she has had chicken soup and raman noodles all weekend.
YAY for Garage sale I normally do not find much at garage sales nor do I go to that many but we drove by this one on the way to Joe's parents house and we found these...... YAY!!!! I have been looking to get clue for awhile but it seems to be the game that always wants to be 20 dollars or more. I wasn't sure how much the kids would like it so I didn't want to pay that much but we paid $2.00 each for these games of clue!! Why did I buy 2? cause I wasn't sure if they were missing pieces and I figured between the 2 it should be a complete set. but to my surprise both were perfect shape with all the pieces and instructions so I will be putting one up for when my girls loose the pieces ;)
we had a blessed shabbat, the Torah portion this shabbat was Vayera which means
it is for those of you who don't know the story of Abraham and Sarah and the three guests, the story of Sodom and Gomorrah and the birth and Almost sacrifice of Issac. we read the torah portion and we midrashed ( talked and studied) the portion then we had lunch which this week went right along with the Torah portion
Unleaven bread ( barley cause the girls love Barley Matzah) Meat ( Elk stew meat cooked in the slow cooker overnight) and Curds ( or cottage cheese). The girls thought it was fun to have what was served to the guests and it made the story come more alive to them.
Thankful Days: 8-13
day of being thankful day 8 and 9: Yesterday the girls said that they were thankful for me and I wasn't allowed to argue with them.
Day 9: I am grateful for my friend Rae who will call me up on grocery shopping day and ask if I want to go with her so I can save money on gas and then takes us out for Lunch

Day 12 of being thankful: I am so thankful to be a member of the Robert's family. It is such a wonderful feeling to know that even though you are not blood you are loved and accepted. and today of all days this family remembers the wonderful woman who would have been 101 today, I remember bringing a small and special gift to her on her 90th birthday ......
